The man who served as the television voice of the Red Sox resurgence over the past decade is on his way out.

Don Orsillo will not return as the play-by-play man for NESN next season and will be replaced by radio announcer Dave O'Brien.

MORE: Best Red Sox players ever

Orsillo has called Red Sox games alongside analyst Jerry Remy for the last 15 seasons, including runs to World Series championships in 2004, 2007 and 2013. He previously served as the radio play-by-play man for Boston's Triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox, for five years.

There was no immediate word on the reasons behind NESN's decision to cut ties with the Massachusetts native, who has garnered respect nationwide and been a member of TBS's announcing crew for postseason games since 2007.

SPECTOR: Red Sox broadcast review

O'Brien has been part of the Red Sox radio broadcast on WEEI since 2007 and calls Wednesday Night Baseball on ESPN. He also serves as a college basketball and NBA announcer for ESPN. The Quincy, Mass., native called the Marlins from 1993-2001.
