The hype train surrounding Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias has been derailed — for now.

Los Angeles is sending Urias back to the minor leagues after his disappointing debut Friday against the Mets, according to a report from MLB.com's Dodgers reporter Ken Gurnick.

The 19-year-old lefty only pitched 2 2/3 innings before the Dodgers pulled him: He allowed five hits and three earned runs off 81 pitches against 17 batters. He did strike out three batters, including the first of his career, but it wasn't enough, as Los Angeles fell 6-5 in the series opener.

The talent that made Urias so heralded is still there, but perhaps it was premature to declare him the next great pitcher before he'd even stepped up to the mound.

And maybe, Urias' performance was to be expected for a 19-year-old making his MLB debut.
