Bud Norris went from one of the worst teams in the National League to one of the best Thursday when he was traded by the Braves to the Dodgers.
The Dodgers also acquired outfielder Dian Toscano, a player to be named later and cash considerations from the Braves, who received minor league pitchers Philip Pfeifer and Caleb Dirks.

Norris began his career as a starter, but struggled with the Astros, Orioles and Padres. He then moved to Atlanta this offseason and earned a shot out of the bullpen. Norris again was rocky there, but has shown progress in June as a starter.
Despite the recent success, Norris is expected to pitch out of the bullpen in Los Angeles.
To make room for Norris on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated relief pitcher Ian Thomas for assignment.
