Hyun-Jin Ryu's start to the season keeps getting hotter.

The Dodgers lefty recorded his first win on the road Sunday against the Reds, striking out five while allowing five hits and one walk in seven shutout innings in an 8-3 victory.

“He’s locked in right now with everything, his entire pitch mix,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, via MLB.com. “It’s fun to watch a player in a zone like that. I felt like he was in complete control.”

Ryu now has recorded 31 consecutive scoreless innings, which is tied for the 10th-longest in Dodgers history. Orel Hershiser holds the Dodgers and MLB record with 59 consecutive scoreless innings.

Ryu was 5-0 at Dodgers stadium with a 1.22 ERA and was 0-1 on the road with a 2.93 ERA. After securing his first road win, Ryu's overall ERA is 1.52.

“It’s been a while since I pitched this well on the road,” Ryu said, via an interpreter. “As a starting pitcher, you need to put up a good performance whether you are at home or on the road. My workout routine is the same. I had a couple off-days and did a good job resting.”

Ryu is just one part of a solid Dodgers starting rotation that has a 12-2 record and 2.05 ERA with 144 strikeouts and 18 walks.

“They don’t walk many guys and they’re strike throwers,” Roberts said. “They can get punch-outs when they need it. We play good defense behind them. We’ve got a lot of momentum with our starters right now.”
