Dodgers get their ace back with series win on the line against Giants image

The Dodgers on Wednesday will aim to secure a series win over the stumbling San Francisco Giants, and they'll do so with Tyler Glasnow back on the mound for the first time since July 5 after missing a couple weeks with back tightness.

On the other side the Giants will be returning a starter as well with Robbie Ray set to make his season debut. Ray made only one start last year with the Mariners before undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Despite the returns of both top-end starters, Los Angeles is heavily favored at BetMGM to snag the series victory and further bury their National League West rivals.

Run line

Giants +1.5 runs: -130
Dodgers -1.5 runs: +110

Moneyline

Giants: +165
Dodgers: -200

Total

Over 8 runs: -105
Under 8 runs: -115

Prediction

This might just be the series that ostensibly ends the Giants' season. The division crown has long been an afterthought, and now they're losing ground on a wild card spot. They're 5.0 games out with six teams ahead of them and 60 games left to play. Not to mention the vibes are terrible and their last two losses against the Dodgers have been deflating in different ways.

Perhaps Ray's return to the rotation energizes them in some way. It's just hard to see them getting a ton of offense going against Glasnow when through two games in this series they've scored four runs and two of them came via solo homers from rookie Tyler Fitzgerald. Expect a pitchers' duel here with LA's offensive talent eventually lifting them to a win.

Dodgers 4, Giants 1
