All the Arizona Dimaondbacks needed was a little Tony La Russa.

The team hired the Hall of Fame manager as chief baseball officer Saturday afternoon. At the time, the D-backs were 16-28, last in the NL West by a significant margin and facing the rival Dodgers at home again after being shutout, 7-0, by them Friday night.

Ah, the magic of La Russa. Arizona cruised to a 18-7 win with records broken in the process.

What's there to say? The man works fast.
