Talk about your "Major League" moments.

Rangers left-hander Derek Holland, channeling Ricky Vaughn (at the least the late-season version of "the Wild Thing") with his new haircut, pitched his team to a 2-1 victory against the Angels on Saturday.

Afterward, actor Charlie Sheen, who played Vaughn in Major League, met with Holland in the Rangers' clubhouse. They even had a little fun, posing with a Jobu figurine that has made its way into Holland's locker since he began rocking the new 'do.

Sheen has said via Twitter that he was “flattered” by the haircut, which apparently was an idea that came from a friend, Holland told 105.3 The Fan via the Dallas Morning News.

“They came up with it and we had actually talked about this a long time ago,” Holland said. “He said, ‘When you come back, that’s what you need to come back with.’ And I was like, ‘Nah. I don’t know if I could do it.’ They finally talked me into it. Obviously a few drinks got into me and that’s why I did it. I definitely did the haircut to change it up. I got to enjoy myself. That’s what it’s all about.”

Holland's three-hit effort over eight innings Saturday helped pull the Rangers to within two games of the first-place Astros in the AL West.
