Have a little faith in yourself, Dee Gordon.

Not realizing he was safe at second base during Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Gordon began jogging off the field, only to be tagged out for real.

The speedy Marlins second baseman usually beats throws with ease, but for some reason, he didn't think he beat this one after a sixth-inning infield single by Martin Prado.

If Gordon had made it to third, we might be calling him a genius. Unfortunately for the Marlins, he did not.

The lesson? Always believe in yourself. Especially on the base paths, and doubly so if you happen to be one of the fastest players in the game.
