There haven't been many bright spots for the 2016 Braves, but shortstop and hope-for-the-future Dansby Swanson has been one of them since his call-up last month.

But Monday night against the Marlins, the Braves found a way to extinguish even that small joy when Swanson was apparently hit in the groin by an errant throw from catcher Tyler Flowers.

Only this wasn't the result of any heat-of-the-moment action or any bang-bang play. No, this happened away from the action. A bruised groin. During a pitcher's warmup. During a timeout. Cup-checked. Yep.

The Braves Barved, as Atlanta fans might say.

Shame. The Barving came a short time after Swanson made this nifty play, showing one reason why Braves fans are excited about the future.

For Braves fans' sake, hopefully Swanson can return soon.

Also Monday, the Braves blew a 7-0 lead against the Marlins. They eventually won 12-7.

Baseball, man.
