Cubs right-hander Dan Haren, 35, said Sunday he will retire when Chicago's postseason is over.

A 13-year MLB veteran, Haren got the regular-season-ending win Sunday against the Brewers in what very well may have been his final outing.

"If I don't pitch in the postseason, that's it," Haren said (via ESPN.com). "It's been fun. Hopefully there's a lot more games to go. ... If my name is called, I'll be ready."

Haren is a long shot to make the Cubs' postseason roster, despite finishing strong (two earned runs in his final 17 2/3 innings). He struggled early after being acquired at the trade deadline from the Marlins but cut his August ERA (6.31) by almost four full runs in September (2.36).

After Sunday's win, Haren (11-9 in 2015) is 153-131 with a 3.75 ERA over 13 seasons that included stints with nine teams since breaking in with the Cardinals in 2003.

The Cubs play the Pirates in a one game wild-card playoff Wednesday in Pittsburgh, and the winner moves on to play the Cardinals in the NL Division Series.
