Curt Schilling says he'll be back on ESPN by MLB postseason image

Curt Schilling’s exile from ESPN appears to be coming to an end.

The former major-league pitcher will be back on the air with ESPN for the MLB postseason, the network confirmed Sunday (via SI.com).

Earlier Sunday, Schilling, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to deliver the invocation before Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race, said (via USA Today) that he would be back on ESPN in the postseason but didn't say in what capacity.

Schilling has been suspended by the TV network since Sept. 3 after he posted a meme comparing Muslim extremists to German Nazis.

At the time, ESPN said the suspension was effective until at least Oct. 6.

Jessica Mendoza, an All-American softball player at Stanford, has earned high praise for her work as Schilling's replacement on ESPN's game broadcasts, smoothly working with play-by-play man Dan Shulman and fellow analyst and former major leaguer John Kruk.
