Some members of the World Series champion Chicago Cubs will appear on NBC’s "Saturday Night Live" this week, catcher David Ross told MLB Network on Friday (via the Chicago Tribune).
Ross said players were set to fly to New York City, where the show is performed and filmed, after Friday’s parade in Chicago.

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch will host this week’s edition of SNL and Solange is the musical guest.
The Tribune also reports there is "speculation — and perhaps wishful thinking — that Will Ferrell also will be on the show to provide his Harry Caray impersonation."
No word on noted Cubs fan Bill Murray, one of the most classic SNL stars.
