A ball four turned strike call lit a fire under Cubs manager Joe Maddon on Tuesday at Wrigley Field as he rushed to ask home plate umpire Jerry Meals a simple question.
With Cubs catcher David Ross in the midst of a 3-0 count against Reds starter Brandon Finnegan, Meals called a strike on the following pitch that was well inside near Ross' ankles.

The confrontation resulted in Maddon's second ejection this season, but the veteran manager didn't leave the field immediately. Maddon followed second base umpire Sean Barber down the third-base line yelling at him before finally heading into the dugout.
