Looking beyond the numbers, Bellinger came up with two massive hits in the series: the Game 4 walkoff single that scored Manny Machado and knotted the series at two games apiece; and a two-run home run in Game 7 that put the Dodgers ahead in the second inning after they had fallen behind in the first.
"It's nice seeing results. I'm sticking with the process, but feeling good for those most of the series, if I stick to the process they're all going to fall in and they kind of showed today," Bellinger said following his Game 4 heroics.
"Cody, it's been an up-and-down season for him, but his kind of approach to each day and trying to get better hasn't changed. And for him to get rewarded (in Game 4) on a base hit the other way off (Brewers reliever Josh) Hader, and then the game winner (in the 13th inning), was really, really good to see," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to Game 5.
Bellinger, 23, entered Game 7 with a .188 career postseason average and a .604 OPS.
