Carlos Carrasco injury update: Indians pitcher helped off field after freak injury image

Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco was helped off the field Sunday after a a routine attempt to cover first base.

Carrasco's injury — later diagnosed as a left hamstring strain — occurred in the third inning against the Tigers when he landed awkwardly on the bag while making the play. The injury looked worse than just a hamstring strain but a stint on the 15-day disabled list is likely looming for the 29-year-old.

Take a look at the injury:

Carrasco wasn't able to put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the field. The pitcher recorded 2 2/3 shutout innings against the Tigers before injury, lowering his ERA to 2.45 with a 0.95 WHIP.
