Rangers' Carlos Beltran homers in first at-bat with curious new 'hair' image

Texas Rangers outfielder Carlos Beltran has rocked the bald look for a number of years. Yet Monday, he hit a home run with a very unique new "hair" style.

According to the Dallas Morning News , the new 'do was drawn on to make fun of Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor's own receding hair line.

Beltran was seen with the new look Sunday night in the dugout, so Monday's 399-foot shot against the Seattle Mariners came in his first at-bat with the eye-black-powered wig. He later added a double in the third inning.

Though the look is new and eye-catching for Beltran, it isn't brand new to the sports world. NBA star Carlos Boozer has also regrown hair under questionable circumstances.

The Rangers likely won't care what is or isn't on Beltran's head as long as he keeps hitting like he has all season. The 39-year-old now has 25 homers on the year — for the first time since 2012 — and 417 in his career. He became the sixth switch-hitter to reach 25 home runs in at least eight different MLB seasons.
