Even the Cardinals are cashing in on the Cubs' crown

Cardinals fans aren't above reminding Cubs fans of how many World Series that St. Louis won during Chicago's 108-year drought.

And now that the drought has ended, the Cardinals aren't above cashing in either.

Beginning Dec. 2, the Cardinals will sell a five-game ticket package described as "Cubs, Cubs, and more Cubs … catch five great games with the reigning world champs."

Pretty fawning for your hated rivals (maybe: "Don't let stinking Cubs fans buy Cardinal red seats"?), but then this is strictly business.

As the Chicago Tribune notes, tickets at Wrigley Field are going to be in even higher demand in 2017 and the five-ticket package Busch Stadium, about a five-hour drive south of Chicago, offers an alternative.

It doesn't end with the big-league club, either.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals’ Single-A affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs, is selling a three-game "Champions Package" for a Midwest League series in May against the South Bend Cubs — and that one includes a giveaway: a Cubs logo cooler.
