Say this for 23-year-old Bryce Harper: He gets it.

While the reigning NL MVP is making baseball fun again, he's also wanting youngsters who follow him on Instagram to know about the game's legends — on and off the field.

That's why as the Nationals wrapped up their only trip to Los Angeles this year, the All-Star outfielder took the opportunity to pay tribute to longtime Dodgers announcer Vin Scully (calling him "Mr. Scully," of course).

Scully is in his 67th and final season of calling Dodgers games. Do the math: He's been doing that job almost three times as long as Harper has been alive.

And yet when Harper says in his Instagram post "I remember growing up turning on the television and or radio broadcast hearing the amazing and wonderful voice of Mr. Scully talking not only about the players numbers or how they were doing that year, but the stories of life and beyond that!" the young superstar is touching the hearts of generations of MLB fans who learned to love the game on the radio through Vin Scully talking about players like Bryce Harper.
