The Tigers sent home relief pitcher Bruce Rondon on Tuesday because of his "effort level", according to MLive.com.

"Bruce Rondon, because of his effort level, has been sent home," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus announced Tuesday afternoon. "Other than saying that [general manager] Al Avila and myself completely agreed on it, there will be no other details or comment."

Rondon, who is 1-0 with a 5.81 ERA, a 1.61 WHIP and five saves in 35 outings for the Tigers this season, was being used as closer. But Alex Wilson and Neftali Feliz will now rotate at that role depending on the situation.

Rondon, 24, is under Tigers control through the 2019 season.
