Everyone's worried about sticky stuff, but Brooks Kriske may have had Crisco on the ball last night.
The Yankees fell to the Red Sox 5-4 in extra innings Thursday night, with the Yankees reliever's historically poor performance the culprit for the loss.
Kriske threw four wild pitches in the 10th inning, blew the lead and cost the Bombers a win. Kriske, unfortunately, also cost himself a 26-man roster spot in the "effort," as he was sent down to Triple-A Scranton after the game.
Brooks Kriske's historical night!

His four wild pitches in one inning ties an MLB record set five times previously. The last time was 2008. It's the first time in MLB history a pitcher has thrown four or more wild pitches in the ninth inning or later pic.twitter.com/0VcNqzITkN
GATTO: Nelson Cruz trade grades: Rays add big bat, Twins begin sell-off
Kriske's four wild pitches in the ninth inning or later marked the first time that's happened in MLB history, and it couldn't have come at a worse time for the Yankees: New York is still trying to make headway in the AL East — and in the playoff race at large — and dropping a game to a division rival isn't exactly the way to get it done.
The Yankees' Brooks Kriske is the first pitcher in MLB history to throw 4+ wild pitches in a single extra inning.

It's a tough break for Kriske, the 27-year-old rookie who has pitched in just seven games this year. He was very down after the game, but give him credit for facing the music.

But Twitter is unrelenting, and users piled onto the performance with some rude (but hilarious) comedy:
