The Milwaukee Brewers had a big day at Truist Park on Thursday, dumping 16 runs on the Atlanta Braves to improve to 65-49 on the season.
Leading the way for Milwaukee was rookie outfielder Jackson Chourio. The young slugger picked up three hits, hit two home runs, and knocked in four runs in his five at-bats.
He made a little history in the process too, as was pointed out on Twitter by Sarah Langs.
"Jackson Chourio is the youngest Brewers player with a multi-HR game and youngest player with a multi-HR game since Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in 2019," Langs wrote.
It was certainly a big day for Chourio, who has a chance to win National League Rookie of the Year honors.
The 20-year-old is hitting .277 with 14 home runs, 50 RBI, 15 stolen bases, and a .763 OPS, and he led the way for Milwaukee in their 16-7 blowout win over the Braves.
This is some very impressive history made by Chourio as well, as he joined Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in elite company.
The slugger has given Milwaukee a major boost this season. After trading away Corbin Burnes, the Brewers were counted out by many, but Chourio has helped lead them back to the top of the NL Central and pad their lead in the division over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Chourio managed to crack the Opening Day roster for the Brewers and has not looked back ever since.
