The Brewers will name David Stearns as their general manager Monday, according to MLB.com.

Stearns, 30, will become one of the youngest GMs in baseball. The Harvard grad previously served stints as the Astros' assistant GM and as the director of baseball operations for the Indians. He had been with the Astros since 2012 overseeing the club's player development and analytics departments, which have helped build an American League contender out of Houston in short order.

It was announced in August that longtime Brewers GM Doug Melvin would move to an advisory position within the organization.

Melvin, 63, had been Milwaukee’s general manager for nearly 13 years.
