Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner won't need to wait out the Final Vote results to learn if he's going to Cincinnati next week.

MLB on Thursday named Gardner to the American League roster for the All-Star Game, replacing injured Royals outfielder Alex Gordon.

Gordon is expected to miss two months after being carted off the field Wednesday night with a groin strain. Baltimore's Adam Jones will replace him in the AL starting lineup for Tuesday's game.

Gardner, who turns 32 next month, will be an All-Star for the first time. The veteran is having the best offensive season of his career, with a slash line of .298/.378/.478 entering Thursday afternoon's game against the A's. Gardner hit his 10th home run shortly before he was officially named to the team.

The remaining Final Vote candidates are Mike Moustakas (Royals), Brian Dozier (Twins), Yoenis Cespedes (Tigers) and Xander Bogaerts (Red Sox), with Moustakas in the lead as of Thursday morning.
