The Braves on Wednesday signed relief pitcher Jim Johnson to a one-year, major league contract.

Johnson, 31, posted back-to-back 50-save seasons with the Orioles in 2012 and 2013. He had only two saves in 2014, however, along with a 7.09 ERA while splitting time between the A's and Tigers.
Johnson's 1.92 WHIP last season was the highest by a full-time reliever (50-plus innings) in more than 10 years, according to ESPN.com baseball writer Jayson Stark.
