Two days after the Braves fired Fredi Gonzalez, Bud Black is reportedly the "clear favorite" in the club's search for a new manager, ESPN Radio reported.
If Black is hired, he would take over a team which has the league-worst 9-28 start this season for the long term. In the meantime, Brian Snitker is serving as the Braves' interim manager.

Black has experience rebuilding teams with the Padres, but doesn't have the record to show for it as he went 649-713 in nine seasons in San Diego. He was fired after a 32-33 start in 2015.
Black, 58, is currently a special assistant with the Angels, but can leave at any time for a managerial position.
