Major League Baseball's showcase event is headed back to Atlanta.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported Friday that the Braves expect the 2021 All-Star Game to be played at SunTrust Park and an official announcement could come next week.
“We continue to feel really good about it, and we expect there will be an announcement at some point in time soon,” team president Derek Schiller told the AJC.

The 2021 All-Star Game would be the third played in Atlanta — one at each of the Braves' homes. Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium hosted the 1972 game, while the 2000 edition was played at Turner Field.
SunTrust Park opened in 2017, and MLB has long made a practice of awarding an All-Star Game as quickly as possible to teams that open new stadiums. Of the 15 new ballparks since 2000, SunTrust, Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia and Yankee Stadium are the only ones yet to host. The Phillies already have been awarded the 2026 game, and New York hosted in the final year of the old Yankee Stadium in 2008 and at the Mets' Citi Field in 2009.
This year's game will be played July 9 in Cleveland, with Dodger Stadium set to host in 2020.
