I should commend you on that incredible play, Brandon Drury. But first...

Let me take a selfie.

Today in news destined to disturb the moral fiber lodged in Goose Gossage's fortified intestines, a millennial man had a front-row seat to an incredible catch by the Diamondback, Drury, whose momentum took him into the stands as he chased down a foul ball from the Marlins' Martin Prado. And that millennial man became the story.

Bro-fan Blake Mathesie, cell phone in one hand and throwing up deuces with the other, wanted to not only capture the moment — but capture himself in the moment. Cue the selfie. Cue the outrage.

MLB.com's Real Time Correspondent Amber Schaeffer caught up with Mathesie, who explained his incredible selfie reflexes, and wanted it to be known that selfie isn't short for selfish.

"It cut away. I did ask if he was okay," Mathesie said.

Drury, just 23 himself, probably understood the millennial mindset that led to the moment. Mathesie said he offered a subtle smile before getting back to the game. A reflection of the suh-dude symbol Mathesie so subtly displayed: peace.

The Diamondbacks won 4-3. Mathesie won four frames of selfie stardom.
