A five-run inning quickly turned historic for the Blue Jays.
First baseman Rowdy Tellez took a 1-1 cutter from Red Sox starter Nate Eovaldi high and far over the right-field fence at Fenway Park for a home run. Tellez's blast was his third of the season, the farthest of his brief MLB career and officially the longest homer in Fenway history.

Baseball Savant projected that Tellez's homer traveled 505 feet — 3 feet farther than Ted Williams' previous stadium best of 502 feet. Williams hit his mammoth shot on June 10, 1946, the ball bouncing off the head of fan Joseph A. Boucher. The seat Boucher occupied that day was painted red to commemorate The Splendid Splinter's feat.

"How far away must one sit to be safe in this park?" Boucher quipped to The Boston Globe after the game.
This time around, nobody was harmed in the production of the home run.

Tellez's home run also added insult to injury for the Red Sox, who entered play Thursday with the second-worst record (3-9) in the American League.
