Reds' Billy Hamilton lands on 7-day concussion DL image

Just when Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton started to get his season going, he was placed on the 7-day disabled list Friday with a concussion.

Hamilton suffered the injury when he was hit in the head while sliding into third base Wednesday. He then sat out the final game of a series against the Cardinals. He will be eligible to return next week in Atlanta if everything checks out.

After a slow start to the season, Hamilton had been on a tear in June, batting .417 with 10 hits and six stolen bases. He also had a home run, three RBIs and five runs scored since June 1.

The speedy outfielder is batting .269 with 16 stolen bases this season, so Cincinnati needs to get him back and healthy while he's producing.
