Butler, who spent time on the seven-day disabled list with concussion-like symptoms after a fight with A's teammate Danny Valencia in August, is batting .276/.331/.403 this season. He would not be eligible for postseason play with the Yankees, who are \two games behind the Blue Jays for the American League's second wild-card spot.
