Best MLB World Series prop bets today: Zac Gallen, Corey Seager highlight top Game 5 picks image

The Rangers sit one win away from raising the Commissioner's Trophy for the first time in franchise history. Texas owns a commanding 3-1 series lead entering Wednesday's Game 5 World Series matchup in Arizona. With their season on the line, the Diamondbacks will lean on ace Zac Gallen (17-9, 3.47 ERA, 3.49 xFIP) while Texas counters with veteran righthander Nathan Eovaldi (12-5, 3.63 ERA, 3.96 xFIP).

Can the Rangers finish off the Diamondbacks in five, or will the World Series shift back to the Lone Star State? We've pinpointed several actionable player props on SuperDraft for DFS players to consider for potentially the final MLB game of the season.

SuperDraft users can win 3X the amount wagered if their two-legged player prop parlay hits. Consequently, the more legs you add to your player prop parlay, the larger your potential payout becomes, but as the long odds indicate, completing a clean sweep is challenging. If you were to put down a $20 entry fee and all four of our props below hit, you'd get a $200 payout.

Below, we'll break down four of our favorite player props on SuperDraft for Game 5 of the World Series. Users don't necessarily have to parlay all four picks together, though. Instead, you could make separate two-legged parlays to increase your win probability or attempt to hit it big if all four picks come through.

*10x potential payout if users parlay all four correct picks

1. Zac Gallen, SP, Diamondbacks - UNDER 5 strikeouts

Although Gallen sports a respectable 27.1-percent strikeout rate with a .207 opponent batting average in 107 career plate appearances against current Texas hitters, his strikeout total is slightly inflated at a flat five, providing some value on his UNDER. The market consensus on Gallen's K-prop tonight is at 4.5, so we'll gladly take the extra 0.5 and fade the Diamondbacks ace, who isn't remotely close to his best form.

This postseason, Gallen's pitched to a 5.27 ERA, allowing 16 runs on 28 hits in 27.1 innings, retiring just 18 hitters via strikeouts. Gallen's gone UNDER five strikeouts in four of five starts, finishing with precisely five strikeouts in his most recent start against Texas in Game 1. It's not a massive edge by any means, but when the rest of the market is a half strikeout lower on Gallen, we'll take our chances on him totaling four or fewer Ks tonight.

2. Corey Seager, SS, Rangers - UNDER 1.5 bases

Betting against the overwhelming World Series MVP frontrunner who's hit three home runs in four World Series game doesn't seem like a smart move. That said, we don't know how or why the Diamondbacks continue to pitch to Texas' No. 2 hitter, and after belting his third long ball of the Fall Classic in Game 4, we think pitching coach Brent Strom finally learned his lesson.

There's a real chance the Diamondbacks utilize a cautious approach in Seager's at-bats tonight, pitching around him and possibly intentionally walking him if there's an open base. Since walks don't count toward a player's bases prop, we'll hold our nose and hope the Diamondbacks understand that pitching to Seager is a minus-EV move.

3. Christian Walker, 1B, Diamondbacks - OVER 5 fantasy hitting points

Walker got back on track with a 3-for-5 effort in Game 4, easily going OVER his fantasy hitting points prop of 5. We're going back to the well, picking Arizona's first baseman to do his thing at the plate with the Snakes' season on the line. Walker went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts in Game 1 against Eovaldi, but we expect him to make the necessary adjustments to post another strong night at the dish.

For those curious about the exact fantasy point scoring rules for hitters, here's a look at SuperDraft's MLB scoring breakdown:

Hitting Stats Pts Per
Singles 2
Doubles 4
Triples 6
Home Runs 8
RBIs 2
Runs 2
Hitter Walks 2
Stolen Bases 3
Hit by Pitch 2

4. Evan Longoria, 3B, Diamondbacks - OVER 0.5 bases

Longoria's fared better than Walker in his head-to-head battles against Eovaldi, going 4-for-14 (.286 average) with four singles. Longo went 1-for-2 against Eovaldi in Game 1, serving a first-pitch middle-middle heater to right field. With his total bases prop at an attainable 0.5, we'll back the veteran third baseman to record at least one hit in Game 5.
