Best MLB prop bets today: SuperDraft player prop picks for Wednesday 7/19 image

After a wild night in the majors that saw 12 teams score 10-plus runs, we only hope Wednesday's MLB action provides a fraction of excitement as an encore. With SuperDraft posting its typical slew of total base, strikeout, and fantasy point props, we've pinpointed several we feel yield value, hopefully resulting in some extra DFS cash at the end of the night. Users who sign up for SuperDraft can pick their favorite over/unders via SuperDraft's Fantasy Props feature, bringing them closer to the action while having a chance to win cash prizes.

SuperDraft users can win 3X the amount wagered if their two-legged player prop parlay hits. Consequently, the more legs you add to your player prop parlay, the larger your potential payout becomes, but as the long odds indicate, completing a clean sweep is challenging.

Below, we'll break down four of our favorite player props on SuperDraft for Wednesday night's nine-game MLB slate. Users don't necessarily have to parlay all four picks together, though. Instead, you could make separate two-legged parlays to increase your win probability or attempt to hit it big if all four picks come through.

*10x potential payout if users parlay all four correct picks

1. Austin Riley, 3B, Braves vs. Diamondbacks - OVER 1.5 bases

Riley was one of five players to hit two-plus home runs and drive in five RBIs on Tuesday night, driving in seven of Atlanta's 13 runs. We're backing the Braves No. 3 hitter to ride the momentum into tonight's bout against Arizona righthander Ryne Nelson (5-5, 5.06 xFIP).

Righties boast a .294 batting average over 211 at-bats against Nelson this season, and with Nelson struggling to keep the ball in the park (1.27 HR/9), Riley could go deep for a third time in two days. Of course, we'll settle for a double in the gap, but another long ball certainly wouldn't hurt.

2. Elly De La Cruz, 3B, Reds vs. Giants - OVER 6.5 fantasy points

De La Cruz and the Reds are in a funk, losing their past six games, but tonight sets up as a potential breakthrough spot against Giants' starter Ross Stripling (0-2, 6.11 ERA). While the Reds' offense has struggled to string together consecutive base knocks for most of their six-game skid, that wasn't the case in Tuesday night's 11-10 loss.

De La Cruz enters Wednesday's contest with only four hits in his past 29 at-bats (.138), but a plus matchup against the contact-heavy Stripling (20.2 strikeout percentage, 22.2 whiff percentage) gives the stud rookie a chance to put the ball in play and rack up some fantasy points. EDLC has struck out 13 times in his past 29 at-bats, thanks in part to a 41.7-percent whiff rate against breaking balls and a 36.4-percent whiff rate against off-speed pitches. Fortunately for him, Stripling's struggled to generate swings-and-misses from his off-speed and breaking stuff, so tonight's the night to buy back into one of the game's most dynamic players.

3. Jose Berrios, SP, Blue Jays vs. Padres - UNDER 5 strikeouts

Berrios faces a Padres offense starting the turn a corner while being one of the more disciplined teams at the plate. Over the past two weeks, San Diego's offense boasts the third-lowest strikeout rate (18.4) while sitting 17 percent above league average in wRC+ (117). Since the Padres have shown elite plate discipline of late, we're not sure Berrios fans six-plus Padres hitters tonight despite Berrios going OVER five strikeouts in three of his past four outings.

4. Mickey Moniak, CF,  Angels vs. Yankees - UNDER 0.5 bases

Moniak's one of the league's hottest hitters, entering Wednesday night with a nine-game hitting streak. That said, we think his hitting streak ends against southpaw Carlos Rodon. Moniak's raked against righthanded pitchers this season (.365) but has just one hit in 15 at-bats against lefties (.067).

Moniak typically gets a breather when the Angels face lefthanders, but with Los Angeles down Mike Trout and Jo Adell, Phil Nevin will likely put Moniak in the starting lineup tonight. His inability to hit lefthanded pitching likely means his nine-game hitting streak ends in Wednesday's series finale.
