Best MLB prop bets today: SuperDraft player prop picks for Sunday 9/3 image

Happy Sunday, everyone — the first Sunday of September and the last Sunday without NFL football in 2023. We're gearing up for a full slate of MLB action, with 15 games scheduled between 12:10 p.m. ET (Cubs at Reds) and 7:10 p.m. (Yankees at Astros). And to celebrate this three-day weekend (Happy Labor Day, ya'll!), we have decided to put together a SuperDraft player prop parlay for your betting and viewing pleasure.

What a three-day stretch it has been for the Atlanta Braves. The best in the bigs entered Dodger Stadium and asserted their dominance over an L.A. squad that had won 24 of its past 28 games. Now the ATL is up to 90 wins and running away with the best record in the majors — and on pace to finish with the best record in franchise history. Naturally, we have selected two props from today's series finale.

Let's have some fun on SuperDraft! Sign up today to pick your favorite over/unders via SD's Fantasy Props feature, bringing you closer to the action while having a chance to win cash prizes.  Win 3X the amount wagered if your two-legged player prop parlay hits, and watch your potential payout rise with each additional leg you pile onto your parlay.

Below, we'll break down four of our favorite player props on SuperDraft for Sunday's MLB slate. Users don't necessarily have to parlay all four picks together, though. Instead, you could make separate two-legged parlays to increase your win probability or attempt to hit it big if all four picks come through.

*10x potential payout if users parlay all four correct picks

1. Freddie Freeman, 1B, Dodgers vs. Braves — OVER 0.5 singles (4/5 confidence)

Freeman has struggled a bit against his old team over the past few days, managing just three singles and not scoring or driving in a run. He has struck out twice in each of the Dodgers' past two games. However, we have plenty of reasons to believe he will have a strong Sunday to close out the weekend on a high note.

First off, Freeman has hit Braves projected starter Charlie Morton very well throughout his career. In 18 career plate appearances against the veteran righty, Freeman has 10 hits including three home runs, three doubles, and four singles. His slash line against his former teammate: .556/.556/1.222. Good golly.

Even better, Freeman has hit a single in each of L.A.'s past three games. When he gets into little mini-funks, the former MVP usually doesn't try to do too much to get out of it. Expect him to focus on finding gaps in the infield or blooping a hit into the outfield at least once or twice today.

There's nobody better at simply getting good contact and finding his way on base than Freeman, and we're loving this prop even though we typically prefer "bases" and "hits" over "singles." Smash the OVER here and root for one of the best in the biz.

2. Ronald Acuña Jr., Braves at Dodgers — OVER 1.5 bases (4/5 confidence)

Last week, we wrote about how Mookie Betts briefly leapfrogged Acuña in the NL MVP odds market. Well, the Braves right fielder has responded, and with powerful force. Acuña has homered in three straight games against the NL West-leading Dodgers, and he's now up to 32 home runs, 63 steals, and a .338 average on the season.

However, Betts still has more homers (36) than the Braves superstar, as well as a higher slugging percentage (.614 to Acuña's .582) and OPS (1.021 to 1.001). And we all know that MVP voters (not just chicks) love the long ball. So, don't be surprised if Acuña once again swings for the fences on Sunday.

Dodgers rookie Bobby Miller has surrendered round-trippers in each of his past two starts, and he predominantly pitchers fastballs and breaking balls — both of which Acuña hits very well. Don't be surprised if the MVP favorite collects at least a double or a couple hits, or at best another home run or two.

3. Aaron Judge, OF, Yankees at Astros — UNDER 7 fantasy points (3.5/5 confidence)

It's always difficult to bet against the reigning AL MVP, but Judge has struggled against Astros projected starter Cristian Javier throughout his career so this almost feels like a shoo-in. In 12 career plate appearances against Javier, Judge has zero hits, five strikeouts, and two walks. The dude just flat-out doesn't see the ball well out of Javier's hand.

We understand if you're intrigued with the OVER here — Judge is 11 months removed from breaking the AL single-season home run record, and Javier has surrendered 11 earned runs over his past three starts — but you simply have to play the numbers with matchups like these. Even if Judge hits a single and collects two walks, he's still at just six fantasy points. Pick the UNDER here or fade this prop entirely.

For anyone unfamiliar with how fantasy points work in baseball, here's the skinny:

Stat Pts per
Singles 2
Doubles 4
Triples 6
Home Runs 8
RBIs 2
Runs 2
Hitter Walks 2
Stolen Bases 3
Hit By Pitch 2

4. Bryce Harper, OF/DH, Phillies at Brewers — OVER 0.5 singles (3/5 confidence)

Harper has the good Sunday fortune of facing Wade Miley, whom he has hit quite well throughout his MLB lifetime. In 13 career ABs against Miley, Harper has racked up six hits — five of which were one-baggers.

We don't love singles over/unders — it's like buying a scratch ticket that only allows you a payout if you win $10 and not $20, $50, or $100 — but we're pretty confident Harper will find himself standing on first at least once by the end of this Milwaukee matinee.
