Barry Zito pitched a scoreless inning Sunday in relief for Triple-A Nashville.
After the game, teammates showered the 37-year-old Zito with beer and champagne, according to CBS Sports.

The former Cy Young winner with the A’s won’t be promoted this month to finish the season for the team on which he rose to stardom.
It’s possible Zito won’t pitch again as a professional.

For the season, the lefty finished with a 3.48 ERA in 24 appearances.
For his career, Zito went 165-143 in 430 appearances, won the 2002 Cy Young, was a three-time All-Star and signed a seven-year, $126 million contract before the 2007 season.
Not bad for one of the game’s greatest free spirits.
