The Athletics kept their streak going Monday against the Angels.

Oakland won its 10th consecutive game after topping Los Angeles, 8-5. They ended the game in dominant fashion by striking out Mike Trout, who was 0 for 4 at the plate.

Matt Chapman hit a home run and finished 2 for 4 for Oakland.

Chris Bassitt was given the win to move to 3-1 on the season. He pitched five innings, allowing six hits and five earned runs while striking out three. Blake Treinen got his 11th save of the season.

Angels starter Trevor Cahill was pegged with the loss. 

It's Oakland's longest win streak since 2006.

Studs of the Night

Cody Bellinger hit his 19th home run to tie Roy Campanella for the second-most in Dodgers history through the team's first 54 games of a season. 

Sergio Romo recorded his 10th save of the season. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning in the Marlins' 3-2 win over the Nationals. 

Clint Frazier, Brett Gardner and Gary Sanchez all homered in the Yankees' 5-2 win over the Padres. 

Duds of the Night

Rowdy Tellez and Randal Grichuk both went 0 for 4 in the Blue Jays' 8-3 loss to the Rays.

Indians pitcher Jefry Rodríguez had a rough start against the Red Sox. In 4 1/3 innings of work, he allowed eight hits and six earned runs while striking out six. Boston went on to win 12-5.

Highlights

José Iglesias couldn't have had a better start. The Reds infielder hit his first career grand slam in the first inning.

Mookie Betts stole a hit from Cleveland's Jason Kipnis. 

What's Next?

Cubs (30-22) at Astros (36-19), 8:10 p.m. ET — Monday's game between the Cubs and Astros came down to the final out as Houston held on for a one-run win. This should make Tuesday's game an exciting matchup. Chicago will start Jon Lester (3-3, 2.68 ERA) and the Astros will counter with Corbin Martin (1-1, 4.97).
