The Houston Astros placed starting pitcher Lance McCullers on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with right elbow soreness.
McCullers was forced out of Tuesday's start against the Blue Jays due to discomfort in the elbow. The right-hander also dealt with an injury in his throwing shoulder earlier this season.

The talented 22-year-old is 6-5 with a 3.22 ERA and 1.54 WHIP on the season. McCullers has 106 strikeouts in just 81 innings pitched, including 50 in his last six starts.
There is no timetable for his return.
Joe Musgrove, who struck out eight in 4 1/3 innings in relief of McCullers on Tuesday, will take his spot in the rotation and face off against Texas Rangers ace Yu Darvish on Sunday.
