For the first time in 20 years, a game has been postponed in Anaheim because of rain.

Even though the rain had subsided by 7:30 p.m. local time, the field was too saturated for the crew to properly clean up. The last Angels home rainout was on June 16, 1995, against the White Sox. Sunday was the first rain delay since April 24, 2011, when a game against the Red Sox was delayed for five minutes by the threat of rain.

To pass the time during the initial 2 1/2 hour delay, the Angels and visiting Red Sox exchanged witty tweets that ranged from a rain delay playlist to pictures of adorable animals.

The Angels and Red Sox will play a double header Monday, with the first game starting at 5 p.m. ET.

The Padres' game against the Rockies also was postponed until Monday. It was the first washout at Petco Park since 2006.

Earlier this season, the Dodgers endured the first rain delay at Dodger Stadium in seven years. Petco Park also saw a rain delay that day, its first in 337 games.
