McCutchen said he knew something was wrong after getting caught in a run-down. McCutchen was caught in between first and second and when he was running back to first, he spun and immediately grabbed his leg.
He had to be helped off the field.

"It sucks," he told reporters Tuesday.
McCutchen, 32, hopes to return in time for Opening Day next season.
“It sucks,” Andrew McCutchen said. He said he knew something was wrong. He hoped it was his meniscus. But it’s ACL. No other ligament damage. He hopes to be ready for Opening Day 2020.

McCutchen signed a three-year, $50 million deal with the Phillies in December and moved to the top of Philadelphia's lineup.
He was performing well as the leadoff hitter, slashing .256/.378/.457 with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, and an MLB-best 43 walks in 262 plate appearances.
The Phillies outfield is dwindling as McCutchen now joins Roman Quinn and Dylan Cozens, who is also out for the season, on the injured list.
