Andrew Miller named ALCS MVP as Indians advance to World Series image

Indians relief pitcher Andrew Miller has been named MVP of the 2016 ALCS after playing a part in each of Cleveland's four victories over the Blue Jays. Cleveland beat Toronto 3-0 Wednesday to win the AL pennant in five games.

Miller registered three holds and one save and didn't allow a run in 7 2/3 innings. He struck out 14 while allowing just three hits and no walks. He set an ALCS record for strikeouts by a reliever.

Dennis Eckersley, Mariano Rivera and Koji Uehara are the only other relievers to win ALCS MVP.

The World Series will start Tuesday in Cleveland when the Indians face the Dodgers or Cubs.
