While the majority of the Dodgers stayed at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago during a series against the Cubs in May, first baseman Adrian Gonzalez slept somewhere else.
“I didn’t stay there,” Gonzalez told the Orange County Register. “I had my reasons.”
While Gonzalez didn't specify his reasons, it's safe to assume they were political. The five-time All-Star grew up in Mexico and has been a member of Mexico's national baseball team. Given his ties to the country, he likely doesn't appreciate Donald Trump's politics, which prominently feature a proposed wall separating Mexico from the United States.

"They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists," Trump has said of Mexican immigrants. "And some, I assume, are good people.”
For this weekend's stay at the Windy City, the Dodgers had non-political reasons to avoid the Trump hotel. According to the Register, the hotel required a non-refundable deposit from the team in order to stay. Since they weren't sure if they were going to advance to play Chicago, the franchise made other arraignments.
