Adrian Beltre will be keeping a close eye on his suite at Globe Life Park for the rest of the season.

The Rangers third baseman's home was burglarized last week, according to the Dallas Morning News, and tickets to Beltre's suite were among the items pilfered.

“I’d like to see them show up there,” Beltre said.

That would be a pretty foolish move, but no one said burglars were smart. The perpetrator at least had the good sense to wait until Beltre was out of the house for the Rangers' day game against Oakland last Thursday. His family is in California, so no one was home when the break-in occurred.

The thief or thieves also made off with Beltre's 2011 American League championship ring, Beltre said. A Dallas police report described the take as precious metals and jewelry.
