Breaking down the 2015 MLB playoff picture image

After 162 games of blood, sweat and tears — yes, there is crying in baseball — the MLB regular season came to a close Sunday.

There was much anticipation heading into the day, as division titles, wild-card spots and home field advantage were all still up for grabs, but drama was mostly kept at bay when the Rangers, Royals and Pirates all won.

All five spots are now locked in place for both the NL and AL, so let's take a look at how it all shook out.

AL: 

Wild-card game: Astros at Yankees, Tuesday, 8 p.m. ET on ESPN

ALDS Game 1: Rangers at Blue Jays, Thursday, TBD

ALDS Game 2: Wild-card game winner at Royals, Thursday, TBD

NL:

Wild-card game: Cubs at Pirates, Wednesday, 8 p.m.: ET on TBS 

NLDS Game 1: Mets at Dodgers, Friday, TBD

NLDS Game 2: Wild-card game winner at Cardinals, Friday, TBD
