The New York Yankees placed catcher Jose Trevino on the 10-day injured list, the team announced Saturday.

Trevino exited the game in the top of the ninth inning, injuring his quad hustling to score on a Juan Soto RBI single to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead. The injury was officially diagnosed as a left quad strain.

Trevino deserves some praise. Even after suffering the injury, the Yankees catcher found himself hustling into the mob that gathered at home plate when benches cleared in the bottom of the ninth inning.

His teammates would've understood if he didn't given the injury, but it shows what type of teammate Trevino is.

Taking his place on the MLB roster is catcher Carlos Narvaez, who was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

In 71 games at Triple-A, Narvaez is hitting .269 with nine home runs, 47 RBI and a .829 OPS. He will likely be the backup behind Austin Wells.
