The power duo of New York Yankees sluggers Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton helped the franchise win the American League East this season.
Separately, both players have the ability to take over games for stretches at a time. Judge is in the middle of another MVP season while Stanton has enjoyed a resurgent campaign despite a mid-season injury.
During the division-clinching win over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night, both Judge and Stanton hit home runs.
It was the 14th time this season the duo has homered in the same game, which ties them with a pair of franchise legends from a historic season — Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris.

14 Maris & Mantle 1961
14 Judge & Stanton 2024 ***
13 Giambi & Soriano 2002
13 Judge & Rizzo 2022
13 Judge & Soto 2024
12 Judge & Stanton 2022
Mantle and Maris put together arguably the greatest single season between two teammates in Major League Baseball history. Their 115 combined home runs in 1961 remains the highest combined single-season total for any two teammates. They also are the only two teammates to hit at least 50 home runs in the same season.
It's no surprise that Judge's name is the most common on that list, and it's very likely he and Stanton would have taken the top spot had it not been for the latter missing a month of games due to a hamstring injury.
Entering Saturday, the Yankees have two games left for Judge and Stanton to rewrite the franchise record books.
In 112 games this season, Stanton is hitting .235 with 27 home runs, 72 RBI and a 117 OPS+.
Meanwhile, Judge is putting together one of the greatest offensive seasons we've seen since in the history of the game.
The captain is hitting .325 with 58 home runs, 144 RBI, 133 walks and a 1.169 OPS.
Even if they don't, this power duo will be forever linked to one of the greatest home run seasons by a pair of teammates in MLB history.
