The New York Yankees reinstated infielder Oswald Peraza from the injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Peraza has been working his way back from a shoulder strain he suffered during spring training. He missed the majority of spring training and has been progressing through a rehab assignment over the last few weeks.

The news was first reported by Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

In 25 at-bats during his rehab assignment, Peraza hit .160 with an .843 OPS. He only recorded four hits but three of them were home runs.

Peraza showed some flashes when he was called up during the 2023 season, but there's still a long way to go before he claims a regular role on the Major League roster.

In 52 games during the 2023 season, Peraza hit .191 with two home runs and 14 RBI while walking 13 times.
