New York Yankees rookie Ben Rice is doing all he can to stay in the Bronx.

The rookie sensation had himself a day Saturday afternoon, mashing three home runs from the leadoff spot in an effort to spark a Yankees offense that has been lulled to sleep over the last three weeks.

As the replacement for the injured Anthony Rizzo, who is recovering from a fractured arm he suffered in the middle of June.

Rice hit home runs in the first, fifth and seventh innings. He's the only rookie in Yankees history to hit three home runs in a game.

He even got himself a curtain call.

Suffice it so say, MLB fans reacted in kind.
