Former Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon still has some unresolved feelings about the New York Yankees.

The six-time All-Star who spent seven seasons with the Red Sox took aim at the Yankees following their 8-4 loss Saturday night at Fenway Park.

Riding the high from his former team reaching the .500 mark on the season and evening the series against the team with MLB's best record, Papelbon dropped some truly groundbreaking analysis.

Who would have thought that a team losing its two best players—the current leaders of the AL MVP race—would get worse?

MLB fans and Yankees fans alike had a field day on social media in response.

It's easy to understand Papelbon's disdain for the Yankees. I, too, would still hold a grudge against a team that consistently got the better of me.
