The New York Yankees are in the middle of a spiral as MLB's worst team over the last three weeks, which means some trades could be coming at the deadline.

With a few weeks until the July 30 deadline hits, the Yankees will need to weigh their options to add to the bullpen and the infield.

As Gleyber Torres deals with a re-aggravated groin injury, the Yankees could be even more invested in adding a second baseman.

Jon Heyman of The Post suggested that Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India could be a good fit.

India would certainly be an upgrade for the Yankees at second base on all fronts. His 124 OPS+ and 12.6% walk rate would be a welcomed trait for the Yankees to have in the lineup.

India also has provided the Reds with some strong defensive play at second base this season, which has been a far cry from what the Yankees have gotten from Torres throughout his tenure in the Bronx.

The Reds and India avoided arbitration this offseason with a two-year deal, and he's still under team control through the 2026 season. That, plus his production, make for an intriguing fit at the trade deadline.

Something needs to change with the Yankees if they want to make a legit second-half run, and upgrading the second base position is one way to do so.
