In a surprising twist, star outfielder Juan Soto was a last-minute addition to the New York Yankees starting lineup on Sunday.

The Yankees posted their initial lineup earlier Sunday afternoon, and it did not include Soto. The 25-year-old star told reporters he expects to undergo further testing during the team's day off Monday.

However, it seems the hand is feeling strong enough to play as the Yankees updated their lineup just minutes before first pitch.

Soto also told reporters before Sunday's game that he was held out of Saturday's game because he couldn't grip a bat due to his hand injury.

With Soto now in the starting lineup, it's unclear whether he will still undergo testing, but this will be a storyline to watch coming out of the weekend.
