New York Yankees star outfielder Aaron Judge was named the American League Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.
Over the last week, Judge slashed .500/.630/1.200 with three home runs and 12 RBI. All three of those home runs came in the weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Judge also was named the AL Player of the Week during the month of May.
Judge has been on an incredible tear since entering the month of May. In fact, he's been on an absurd stretch since his first career ejection took place.
On the season entering Monday, Judge is leading MLB in home runs (24), OPS (1.139), slugging percentage (.703), on-base percentage (.436), walks (55), extra-base hits (46) and total bases (168).
He's currently on pace for 58 home runs. His 4.9 fWAR also leads all MLB players by a wide margin, which is incredible considering his fWAR was 0.7 entering the month of May.
The Yankees are hopeful to get Juan Soto back in the lineup for the series against the Kansas City Royals, but Judge has been more than capable of carrying the load.
